Trades This Week

Box 2 centre, Mike Comrie, was dealt to the Senators on Wednesday morning for Box 20 centre, Alex Kaigorodov. Comrie, who wasn't taken at all in the pool (*cough*Joe Thornton*cough*), has now made the move to a contending team in need of some talent down the middle, after Box 14 centre, Jason Spezza, went down with injury. Spezza, who may return to skating this weekend, hasn't got a timetable to return, but the Senators need to keep winning to keep their playoff hopes alive. Comrie had two assists in his debut for the Senators on Wednesday night. If the great superstar Thornton should fall for any great period of time, you may want to consider Comrie, despite playing on the Senators second line.

One more deal took place on Wednesday... the Ducks acquired oft-scratched Box 22 defenseman, Ric Jackman, from the Panthers for another minor-league defenseman and a conditional pick in 2007. Jackman, who was starting to find his groove in Pittsburgh last season, couldn't grasp what was going on in Florida, which made him expendable to Panthers' management. The Ducks, on the other hand, may have found someone who can step in and take some minutes from a few guys who are trying to fill in for the lost Chris Pronger.
