Marleau to Miss Tuesday

The struggles continue for the Sharks captain, Patrick Marleau (Box 2), as he will likely miss tonight's game with a strained groin. The centre didn't practice on Monday, but it's still unknown how much time he'll actually miss.

It has been a very disappointing season, which has led to even more trade rumours than usual come this time for the past few years. He still generates quite a bit of interest from teams, as his skills are not believed to have diminished, rather his desire to play for San Jose may be a problem. With only 28 points (10G, 18A) in 55 games, his usefulness must be in question amongst management for the Sharks.

In the Draft, Marleau was dropped in the first Waiver Draft and wasn't even a consideration last week when teams had the chance to pick him up in the second Waiver Draft. On the Sheet, three teams still have some sort of faith in him in the second box, or they haven't truly been paying much attention and just haven't moved him yet.
