Modry Heads to Philly

It looks as though the trade season has claimed yet another deal to add to it's list. The Flyers acquired defenseman Jaroslav Modry (non-pool) from the Kings for a third round pick, assumingly this summer.

Modry, a future unrestricted free agent, had his name bounced around quite often and since Los Angeles is 13 points out of the playoffs, in last place in the West, they, as expected, are going to be sellers at the deadline.

Modry has 6 points (1G, 5A) in 61 games this season for the Kings, which is roughly the same points to games ratio of Jason Smith (non-pool). Modry may get a better chance to be offensive in the Philly system and less likely to backfire as a guy in their system. For a third round pick, the Flyers didn't mortgage much to get him.
