Let's Play Theoretical Match-Ups

The only Game 7 to be played thus far is the Montreal/Boston series, which will go on Monday night. If Montreal is to win that game and the Flyers beat Washington in Game 6, this would be what the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals would look like.

That's two phenomeonal match-ups for a second round date, don't you think? A Penguins/Rangers series would be quite the newsworthy feature. Sidney Crosby (Box 13) versus Sean Avery (Box 18), would obviously be the centre-piece of the series... or would it be Avery versus Marc-Andre Fleury (Box 24)?

If Boston were to upset the Canadiens on Monday night and the Flyers still come away with their win, the Semi-Finals would look pretty different.

These match-ups don't seem to have the same amount of pow that the first two have. Of course you're going to match Avery against who every they play against, but maybe the better match-up of these series', would be the scoring prowess of the Penguins versus Tim Thomas (Box 24).

And then, let's say all three games for the Western Conference on Sunday decide each series. Here's what the match-ups would look like if that were to happen.

These would be two cracking match-ups, if you asked the Sherpa. All Detroit/Colorado would need is a return from Claude Lemieux (retired) and it would be perfect. The Pacific Division match-up between the Sharks & Stars would be a bloody affair.
