Flyers Put Habs on the Edge

It's pretty safe to say that the Canadiens are up the creek with only chopsticks to help themselves paddle back. They are going to need some elbow grease and some real determination, if they are to battle back from this 3-1 series deficit they find themselves in.

The Habs made a pretty good effort in the third period against the Flyers, scoring twice in 37 seconds to tie the game up at two, but took a bit of a mental break thinking about getting the game to overtime.

That's when Daniel Briere (Box 15) struck... on the power play, no less. Briere claimed his third game-winning goal of the playoffs and has really put the team on his shoulders and pushed them through all these tough games. Briere also added an assist in the game, bringing his total to 3 points on the night. Briere is now the highest scoring skater in the pool, only one point behind Marc-Andre Fleury (Box 24) for the pool lead in points.

R.J. Umberger (Box 17) had a pair of goals last night, Vaclav Prospal (Box 14) had a pair of assists and Martin Biron (Box 24) posted the win; all three finishing with 2 points a piece for the Flyers.

The Flyers also received some good news from the infirmary, as Mike Knuble (Box 16) returned from his hamstring injury last night and had almost 17 minutes in ice-time on his return. He also managed to notch an assist for his team in the win, on the winning goal, no less.
