Kopitar Extends for Seven

The Los Angeles Kings made a big splash with one of their key young players on Saturday, signing Anze Kopitar to a brand new 7-year contract extension, believed to be worth $6.8 million per season. This should certainly help out the Kings and their woes about getting to the salary cap floor for the coming years and they also lock up one of the better talents in the league.

It's hard to argue about money when you are negotiating with one of the best scorers and potential talents in the league. Kopitar finished last season with 77 points in 82 games for a sub-par Kings team. If the talent around him grows, so will his numbers.
