Gomez Sits Out

The Broadway Blueshirts are without one of their top forwards, as they take on this player's former team. Scott Gomez is out of the Rangers' line-up with a 'very painful leg injury.' Gomez had an MRI on his sore leg and found that there was nothing broken or damaged, so when the pain subsides, he'll likely be ready to get going again.

As a member of Dale B.'s team in the Draft this season, Gomez had 13 points (3G, 10A) in 18 games with the Rangers. Gomez hasn't been the dominant force on offense that the team was hoping he would be, especially with all the new faces on the forward lines, but 13 points isn't anything to sneeze at either. He does rank tied for third on the Rangers in pool scoring, behind Henrik Lundqvist (18 points), Nikolai Zherdev (14).
