Thursday Night's Scratches

Box 24 forward, Erik Christensen, has been listed as out day-to-day with a shoulder injury. He missed Wednesday night's game against the Senators, as what was thought to be a healthy scratch. Christensen is likely doubtful for Saturday's game on Long Island.

Draft pick of pool leader, John B., Dennis Wideman, was left off the roster of the Bruins last night against the Lightning because of an undisclosed injury. Of course with an undisclosed injury, he is only listed as out day-to-day, which could mean anything from available for Saturday to missing a couple of weeks.

The youngest of the Kostitsyn boys, Sergei Kostitsyn, was a healthy scratch again for Montreal on Thursday night. HE has been under performing in the eyes of the Montreal coaching staff and having being sent to the press box for a game or two is supposed to help with motivation. The Box 24 forward will likely get another chance to play on Saturday against the Devils.

The Islanders' injury woes continued to increase on Thursday night, as they have now lost Box 28 defenseman, Radek Martinek to a shoulder injury. Listed as out day-to-day, Martinek joins Mike Comrie, Kyle Okposo and Rick DiPietro on the shelf for the Islanders. That likely means some more troubled times on Long Island.

The 'Age of Tocchet' in Tampa Bay has started to turn the club around over the past couple weeks, but it hasn't worked out for both Radim Vrbata and Mike Lundin of late, as they both were healthy scratches against the Bruins on Thursday night. Both players are on the Sheet and under performing, so they each got to sit in the press box for the 3-1 loss.
