Tuesday Night's Roster News

I had forgotten that I had even included Adam Burish on the the Sheet, but there he is, in Box 6. Burish suffered a foot injury about six games ago and now he is listed as out indefinitely and was placed on the Injured Reserve yesterday, retroactive to his injury. This move was made to allow the team to call up one more player in his place. In 19 games this season, Burish has yet to register a point... I guess you can see why I forgot about him.

As the Avalanche took to thumping the Kings last night, 6-1, they lose Marek Svatos in the process to what is believed to be a minor back injury. Svatos left in the second period, not before scoring a goal, and will be re-evaluated before the team's next game, Friday at home to Chicago.

The Canadiens won't need to scratch Mathieu Dandenault every other game for a little while, as the Box 29 defenseman suffered a broken arm, which will keep him out of the line-up indefinitely. Dandenault has managed to figure into 20 games this season, but has only managed to record 2 assists for the team.

According to the Predators coaching staff, Jordin Tootoo was supposed to be in the line-up against Vancouver last night, but suffered a lower-body injury before game time and had to be a late scratch. The Box 7 forward will likely be re-evaluated before the team's next game, Thursday in Columbus.

Up and down, up and down. That seems to be the current situation for Penguins forward, Janne Pesonen. On Tuesday, the Box 25 forward was sent back down to the AHL to make room for Jeff Taffe and Tim Wallace, as it's their turn to try and make an impression with the coaching staff and help get the Penguins turned around after dropping two straight games.

It was believed on Sunday that Sami Salo had injured his groin against the Avalanche, as he didn't return to the ice after he tweaked it and on Tuesday, it was confirmed. Salo didn't participate in the win against Nashville and is considered day-to-day with a groin injury. The Draft pick of Clayton's will likely get some treatment in Vancouver and be a game-time decision for their last game of their 7-game road trip in Edmonton on Saturday night.
