Pair of Scratches on Tuesday

It looked as though Petr Prucha had finally worked himself back into the Rangers' line-up on a full-time basis, but the last game before the break was given to Dan Fritsche instead. Prucha and Fritsche were both healthy scratches for quite some time at the beginning of the season, but Prucha did curry some favour when he had a bit of a scoring run. The Box 23 & 24 forwards may go back to normal, once regular season play resumes next week.

The Capitals decided to sit Michael Nylander again on Tuesday night, as they took on the Senators in Ottawa. Nylander has only picked up 5 points in his last 11 games with the Capitals and is also tied into some possible trade rumours out of Washington. With the depth at centre the Capitals have, Nylander is quickly becoming an expensive third-liner and may see himself dealt soon. This could actually be good news for Dale C. in the Draft, who is waiting for some better production from the 36-year old Swede.
