Shanahan Signs

Well, it's official now... Brendan Shanahan is a signed, sealed & delivered Devil. Shanahan signed a deal to finish the year at an annual rate of $800,000, which will only be half that at the end of the day. Shanahan won't likely join the club for a little while yet, but the Devils are going to count on him for leadership and support for a long playoff run. Shanahan is a savvy veteran who has seen his fair share of wins and when Martin Brodeur returns to the line-up, the Devils are immediately a threat for the Eastern Conference title in the playoffs.

Once the team announces when they figure to have Shanahan in the line-up, you can give it your best guess as to what he'll be worth in fantasy points. Does he do enough to be worth a pick-up in the second Waiver Draft this year? Maybe not for my dollar, but a well-rested Shanahan does merit some consideration. How does he rank among available players in your fantasy league?
