More Waiver Wire Moves

Box 7 forward, Craig Adams, was also put on the wire on Tuesday. Adams has played in 36 games for Chicago this season, registering 2 goals and 4 assists. Adams is in the last year of his current deal, with an annual cap hit of $600,000. He hasn't made a big impact in Chicago this year, so he likely won't be picked up by tomorrow.

Non-pool player, Peter Olvecky, was placed on the wire this morning. Olvecky has played in 14 games for the Wild and is scheduled to be a restricted free agent this summer. The 23-year old Czech doesn't have much of a reputation yet among many poolies and it could very well stay that way. Expect him to clear and head back to the minors.

Another non-pool player, Jon Sim, has been waived by the Islanders. Sim has 15 points in 49 games this season, not to mention another year left on his deal that has an annual cap hit of $1 million. Sim had a 3-point night last night and might be a good third-liner to a contending team and he'll come with another year, if his new team really likes him.

On the day that the Rangers claimed Sean Avery, the Rangers placed Eric Reitz and Aaron Voros on the waiver wire. Reitz was acquired from the Wild earlier in the year and Voros was a free-agent signing in the summer, also playing in Minnesota last season. Voros is the most likely candidate to be picked up, as he has some size and some relative skill, but he does have two years left on his current deal, at a $1 million cap hit each.
