Notes for Tuesday Night's Action

Good morning everyone! Well, we're on the final countdown to the trading deadline, which is a little over 24 hours away now. With 12 games on the schedule tonight, I really can't foresee a lot of movement on the trade wire, but I'm sure there are a few teams likely to move a player or two. Fortunately for some teams, they will be getting some players back from injury, which in some cases, is just as good as making a deal for a player, especially if the player has been out for quite a while.

The Chicago Blackhawks have decided to send Jack Skille back down to the AHL on Tuesday, ending the youngster's run in the NHL at 8 games this season. Skille should be a part of the team's long-term plans, but it doesn't look like he will be in the short-term plans. This last call-up lasted two games.

Word out of Panthers camp is that David Booth will not be good to go tonight against the Thrashers in a divisional game, as he is suffering from some bruised ribs. Booth, a Draft pick of Jeremy's, isn't expected to miss a great deal of time with this injury, but he is definitely out for tonight. On the plus side, Cory Stillman, a Chris Draft pick, is considered probable to go tonight for the Panthers. He has been out with an ankle injury after blocking a shot last week.

Box 7 forward, Owen Nolan, is expected to return to the Wild line-up tonight against the Canucks after being out with a broken toe. Nolan has been out of the Wild line-up for a couple weeks after suffering the injury and now feels that it is good to go for a return. Nolan has been good when healthy, scoring 30 points in 38 games this season and he couldn't come at a better time for the Wild, in the midst of a playoff hunt.

The Canadiens are expecting to see Alex Tanguay back in their line-up tonight, barring any medical setbacks found by doctors at a check-up today. Tanguay has been out since January with a shoulder injury and he is way past his six weeks he was expected to be out. If Tanguay can't go today, he should be considered out on a day-to-day basis regardless. If there was any sign pointing to yes in this case, Kyle Chipchura has been sent down to the minors today, likely to make room.

The Flyers will also expect to have the return of Kimmo Timonen tonight as they take on the Bruins tonight in Boston. Timonen has been suffering from the flu, missing the last four games, which has been an inconvenience to Derek, who has him in the Draft. Timonen's return has also paved the way for Claude Giroux to return to the line-up, as Nate Guenin and Jared Ross are sent back down to the AHL. Giroux, the Box 25 forward, will make his much anticipated return after being down for salary cap reasons.
