Flames Dress 15

Troubles for the Flames continued on Friday night, as they were only able to dress 15 players, plus their goalies, against the Oilers in Edmonton. The Flames were suddenly without both Dion Phaneuf, who was rumoured to have suffered an injury against the Canucks or even before, and Curtis Glencross, who was scheduled to play on Friday, but did not dress at game time.

With these two injuries, the team could only dress the 15 players due to salary cap issues. The team may have to go again with an under-sized squad in the second half of a back-to-back series.

The team is already without Robyn Regehr and Cory Sarich, due to injuries as well. With these four injuries alone, there is $15.2 million in annual cap space not in the line-up. There should be no wonder why the Flames are having cap trouble.
