European Signings

The Devils have one less UFA to think about this summer, as Niclas Havelid has decided to head home and play in Europe. The 36-year old defender signed a deal in Sweden on Friday and likely won't be seen again in the NHL. Last season with the Thrashers and Devils, Havelid finished with 19 points in 78 GP. You can now strike him from your list of players to choose from now, as he may have snuck on as a depth defenseman somewhere along the lines.

Also, the Hurricanes have one less RFA to worry about, as Jakub Petruzalek has also left for Europe, signing a deal in Finland as well. He played in 2 games for the Hurricanes last season, picking up an assist. Petruzalek did not have a lot of pool potential anyways.
