Heading Into Weekend Two

Well, we're heading into the second weekend of NHL action and the points are adding up in a big hurry in the Draft. We already have three teams that have eclipsed the 40-point mark for the money positions and there is one team on the verge of going over at 38 points. It's very exciting, to say the least. Seven points separates 5th from 17th, so there is plenty of movement left to be had in the weekend's action.

I thought I would give a little preview of the Newsletter accolades to see who is getting closer and closer to such honours.

In the Player of the Week race, there are three players who have really stepped up and done the business in Week Two, including Joe Thornton and Dany Heatley, who both have 7 points a piece in San Jose. They have one more game left this week to build on those totals and I have a feeling that they just might. Don't count out Anze Kopitar of the Kings though, as he has 6 points and is having a great start to his season.

The Mover & Shaker in the Draft, so far this week, is Wes, as he's moved up to 1st place with his great week. That means he also leads in the first race for a jersey. Wes has 26 points in Week Two, but is closely being followed by Clayton and John B., who each have 24 points. Both Stuart and Stacey each have hit the 20-point mark as well this week and shouldn't be counted out.

Chris M., leads the Draft standings in games remaining for his skaters this weekend, with 16, but sits a little ways back in the weekly standings. He'll need an overly productive week from his skaters to make that leap up the page.
