Lightning Grant Leave to Ranger

The Tampa Bay Lightning have granted defenseman Paul Ranger an indefinite time away from the club to deal with personal matters at home. Ranger was not in the line-up for the Lightning on Saturday against the Buffalo and was granted his time away on Sunday. He will be allowed to return to the team when he is ready to go. There is no immediate timetable for his return.

ImplicationsRanger was taken once in the Sheet pool, so there could be some significant time missed for one team in the pool. I would expect a change to come during the week, likely to a replacement like Marc Staal or Zach Bogosian.
