Pietrangelo Remains a Scratch

The Blues are not rushing Alex Pietrangelo into regular NHL minutes this season, as he has been a healthy scratch for a number of games consecutively already this year. The Blues seem to be running with more of a veteran presence, including long-time vet, Darryl Sydor and 25-year old AHL vet, Tyson Strachan. The Blues have been dressing only six defensemen, including last night's game in Pittsburgh, so Pietrangelo will remain the 7th for now.

ImplicationsPietrangelo was not taken in the Draft this year and he was taken once in the Sheet in Box 14. The longer he remains the 7th defenseman, his fantasy value for this season is very low. Of course, he'll be the first to be dressed if an injury were to happen, so that's a positive spin on things.
