Panthers Claim MacIntyre

It's a slow day on the news front, so I thought I would make mention of a waiver claim of a non-pool player today. The Panthers claimed Steve MacIntyre from the Oilers on Tuesday, adding a little toughness to the wings. He was set for assignment back down to the minors, but at his age, he has to clear waivers to do so. In this case, he didn't.

MacIntyre does have a great deal of fantasy value, except in penalty minutes, which is the main reason why he isn't on the Sheet. He likely won't see a great deal of minutes, but the Panthers now have a replacement for Nick Tarnasky, who is out with a broken orbital bone.
