Friday Night's Sheet Pool Scratches

The Flames were without one of their depth scorers on Friday night, as Curtis Glencross missed the game against the San Jose Sharks to a knee injury, which he had suffered earlier in the week against Colorado. As of Friday night, there really was no indication of how bad the injury is and very little acknowledgment from the coaching staff that Glencross is hurt too badly. Consider him day-to-day for now.

A Grade 2 MCL sprain has now sidelined Blue Jackets defenseman, Jan Hejda, for the remainder of the season. The Box 12 defenseman suffered the injury on Monday and after seeing a specialist this week, the defenseman has been told to shut it down for the year, which is disappointing for the Czech defender. Good time to offload him for the stretch run.

The Oilers again decided to go without the services of Mike Comrie for their game on Friday night against the Red Wings. Comrie was a healthy scratch again on Friday, I am to believe, because there still isn't much for injury news regarding the forward. He hasn't been utilized to his believed potential this season, which makes me wonder if the Oilers will have him back around next season. He's an unrestricted free agent this summer.

Here's one from the "I bet you didn't know he was on the Sheet" files... Box 14 defenseman, Greg Zanon, was out of the Wild line-up on Friday night, as he was scratched with an ankle injury. Zanon had himself a pretty good ironman streak going at 172 games before Friday night, but the team is being extra-cautious with this injury, as there is reason to suspect Zanon may have suffered a broken ankle. Apparently, he would like to return to the line-up on Sunday, but its unclear if the team will let him.
