Thrashers Begin Shutdown Cycle

I don't think we should be expecting too much out of the Atlanta Thrashers before the season ends, as they are now shutting down their injured players completely from the final two games of the season. We can now add Nikolai Antropov to the list of players who will be shut down, as he's been battling injury throughout the season, one report has mentioned. Also on the list, Todd White and Pavel Kubina are officially shut down because of their upper-body injuries, they have been fighting to get back in the line-up for a little while now, but since they are out of the playoffs, there is little merit for the fight.

All of these subtractions to the Thrashers line-up could mean that Slava Kozlov could figure back into the line-up tonight. He's been a healthy scratch, likely due to being obsolete in the line-up. That's about all I can figure it to be.

ImplicationsThis bit of news may actually have an effect on the money race, especially if Kozlov is going to draw in the for the Thrashers. Kozlov belongs to Dale B., who is currently fending off Larry in the money spots and he'll likely want as much help as he possibly can get. Not sure how effective Kozlov will be, I suppose that would depend on where he draws into the line-up. As for the other three, a couple of them are in the Draft, but nowhere near the money, so there isn't much there to speak of.

Since Atlanta is out of the playoffs, they have no bearing on the Playoff Pool whatsoever.
