Pool Preview of Game Seven Tonight

The right to play the Montreal Canadiens in the Eastern Conference Final hangs in the balance on Friday night, as the Boston Bruins host the Philadelphia Flyers at TD Gardens. The Flyers are attempting to be the first team since 1975 to successfully come back from a 3-0 series deficit to win a series, while the Boston Bruins are going to try to avoid being the infamous part of that story and move on.

The Flyers are definitely riding a tremendous amount of momentum at the moment, especially with the return of Simon Gagne to their line-up this week. The Flyers also have a bit of a scoring lead, when it comes to their players in the hockey pool.  Daniel Briere and Mike Richards lead the series in points with 9 and 8, respectively, which suggests that the best players for the Flyers are indeed the best players.  Defenseman Dennis Wideman leads the Bruins in points in this series with 7, which does reflect poorly on the Bruins, but their injuries do make up some excuses for their drop off.

In terms of picks, we all know that the Flyers are the favourites in this series, but only by a small margin (of an already small number of picks).  If the Bruins can somehow sneak through this series, we're in for a few more upset-like picks, which makes the pool a little more interesting.  Kimmo Timonen and Milan Lucic are the most popular players for either team, Timonen having the most in this series with 14 picks.
