Lightning Sign Two More

I think new GM Steve Yzerman is getting the hang of signing free agents, including his own restricted free agents. On Tuesday, he signed both forward Teddy Purcell and defenseman Mike Lundin to new 1-year deals, both worth $750,000 for the 2011 season. Both players are definitely the everyday type of depth players, coming in at a reasonable cost, which looks good on the bottom line at the end of the day and should both provide good minutes to the club in the season.

Purcell, a former Los Angeles Kings project, was acquired by the Lightning at the trade deadline and he seemed to fit in well with the Bolts. He finished the season with 15 points in 60 games.

Lundin, a project of the Lightning for the past three seasons, was up and down frequently for the Lightning, but still managed to play in 49 games, scoring 13 points.

Neither player has much for fantasy value, but they do go a ways to help build the Lightning this Summer.
