Panthers Sign Weaver

The Panthers added a little bit more depth to their blueline on Tuesday by signing Mike Weaver to a new 2-year, $1.8 million deal. Weaver was playing with St. Louis in 2010, where he played 77 games, scored 1 goal and added 9 assists for 10 points. That was good enough for 164th among defenders, way too deep for most fantasy pools and when you tack on that he has moved to Florida and their rebuilding structure, that's not generally a hot bed for offense. This signing is more of a footnote to the roster than anything.
