Riley Cote Retires

It's not major news, but Flyers tough guy Riley Cote has decided to call his playing career quits, in order to take on an assistant coaching position with the Flyers AHL club, the Adirondack Phantoms.  Cote had one year left on his current deal at $550,000, which should be wiped out, if all the proper retirement forms were filled out.

Now, Cote was by no means an adequate forward for my hockey pools, but he was a pretty good tough guy with lots of penalty minutes.  In the better parts of four seasons in the NHL, all with the Flyers, Cote has only 7 assists to his name and 411 PIM.
