Caps Without Green

The Capitals coaching staff is calling Mike Green's upper-body injury a stinger and he should be considered out day-to-day for the time being. Green missed out on Washington's overtime win over the Nashville Predators on Saturday night and will remain questionable leading up to the team's next game, Tuesday night at home to Boston.

Green has not set the scoresheet on fire yet this season, picking up a single assist in the first four games that he has appeared in.  Green has been somewhat overshadowed by the emergence of John Carlson in the line-up, who has a goal and 5 assists in the first six games of the year.

ImplicationsI believe this is back-to-back years that Green has been a part of Larry's draft team, but as it was mentioned earlier in the post, he hasn't been lighting it up like he was last year.  Larry has yet to see some harsh implications from Green's slow start, as he still sits in 8th place, only 6 points out of 3rd place.  Green was Larry's 2nd round pick, 30th overall, so he'll have to come back with a vengeance to really make up for that pick position.
