Stralman Out With Illness

The Blue Jackets were without Anton Stralman on Wednesday night in their 5-3 victory over the Kings, because the blueliner was battling an illness that night. I believe it is safe to assume that the illness isn't major and he should be back in the Columbus line-up fairly soon.  The Jackets are on the ice again on Friday night against the Ducks, a night off on Thursday should be good enough recovery time for Stralman.

In 13 games this season, Stralman has only picked up 4 assists.

ImplicationsWith such a small scoring rate this season, it's hard to say whether or not Jani actually missed him in the line-up or not.  Jani has fallen quite a ways in the standings since he finished Week One in 1st place, having dropped down to 16th by the middle of Week Seven.  With the assumption that Stralman is good to go on Friday, the likelihood of Stralman missing out on a good night are a tad slim, but the Jackets did score five goals, so he may have just missed out on one of the biggest nights for Columbus this year.
