Suter Flies Home

It sounds like Nashville Predators defenseman Ryan Suter has left the team, which is currently working on a 4-game road trip, after reportedly re-aggravating his knee injury, which he suffered in late-October against the Flames. Suter has flown back to Nashville this weekend and will miss Saturday night's game against the Hurricanes and will also likely miss Monday's game in Columbus.  An actual time frame for his return likely won't be known until Sunday.

Suter has only figured into eight of the Predators' first 17 games this season, registering only 4 assists in that time.  He is a key piece of both the offense and the defense in Nashville and his presence will sorely be missed.  The Predators are 5-1-2 with Suter in the line-up and 3-5-1 without him.  The long-term success will likely ride on Suter's healthy body.

ImplicationsSuter may not have been rocking a great scoring rate to start the season, but it still counts as man games lost for Wes in the draft this year.  Wes currently sits 17th in the standings going into Saturday night's action, already 40 points out of the money.  Injuries haven't been the biggest concern for Wes, as he ranks tied for 3rd in games played among skaters going into Saturday, rather a poor scoring rate (18th) is to blame for his early-season troubles.
