The Caps Battle the Flu

It sounds like there was a major flu bug running rampant in the Washington Capitals dressing room this weekend and it also sounds like there were many players that were lucky enough to play in Saturday night's contest against the Colorado Avalanche. Unfortunately, Mike Green and Marcus Johansson were among the unlucky ones who were not able to dress and missed out on the game.

The Capitals are supposed to go again on Sunday night at Madison Square Gardens against the Rangers, so it will be interesting to see who will or will not go in the game and it will be tough to speculate either way.

ImplicationsIn the draft, Green is the only one of the two players of note that was taken and he belongs to Larry in the pool.  Larry is currently mired in a battle for the basement dweller mention for Week Ten and Green's return on Sunday night would go a long ways to helping him out of that sticky situation.  If Green cannot go for the Capitals, he would be down to three skater games to help himself fend off the worst mention in the weekly newsletter.
