Datsyuk Leaves Game

On Wednesday night, the Detroit Red Wings lost the services of (arguably) their best player in their game against the Canucks, as Pavel Datsyuk left the game with an apparent hand injury.  Datsyuk had fallen awkwardly on his hand when the injury occurred and tried to play with it for a shift, but in the end, the injury was too great and he couldn't continue in the game.  There was no immediate word as to the severity of the injury, but the Red Wings don't play again until Sunday, the day after the Christmas holiday, so there likely won't be any word until then.

If the injury is minor, I don't think there will be anything more upon his return, but if there is an extended period of time to be missed, you can bet there will be a write up done.

ImplicationsThis could be devastating news for Stacey and his draft team, as he has been on a steady climb up the standings.  Stacey has not had much for injury problems in the last little while, as Datsyuk is now the only player on the list that belongs to him.  Stacey has battled some injury in the season already and is now hovering around the top 10, finishing only one week in 10th in the last eight.  If Datsyuk is out for the long-term, this could be a pretty big blow to his team.
