Draft Player Scratches (Dec 16)

An upper-body injury was bad enough to keep Patric Hornqvist out of the Nashville Predators line-up on Wednesday night, but I have not seen anything to suggest that he'll be missing much more time other than the game against the Sharks.  Until further notice, I would have to imagine that he'll be considered day-to-day for the time being, which likely doesn't sit well with Leon, who currently sits in 9th.

Hornqvist has 8 goals and 7 assists in the first 29 games of the season for Nashville, not quite the scoring pace he finished the 2010 season with, but still an alright clip to go at.

Another scratch from the Washington Capitals line-up to report on... Alexander Semin was a late scratch from Wednesday night's game against the Ducks, because of the flu bug that has been circulating around the team's dressing room for the last couple of weeks.  Semin should be considered day-to-day with the ailment and I would consider him likely to go in Saturday's contest in Boston.

Semin is one of the few players that has been doing good things for Derek in the draft this year, but that certainly isn't enough to keep Derek out of last place in the standings.  Semin has 18 goals and 15 assists in 32 games for Washington.
