Sheet Player News (Dec 18)

The Florida Panthers pulled a bit of rank on Friday night, as the return of Dimitri Kulikov to the blueline was in order after a game up in the press box, which meant one of the young players had to come out.  Box 30 defenseman Keaton Ellerby was the player in question and unless there is an injury in the next game or two, I would imagine Ellerby will likely find his way back down to the minors.  Ellerby has been decent in his limited minutes with the Panthers, 4 assists and a +5 rating in 17 games.

It has not been a good season for Willie Mitchell and his first go around with the Los Angeles Kings, as the Box 12 defenseman has now suffered a lower-body injury, which has him listed as week-to-week on the injury page.  The Kings have not disclosed what the injury is or what the extent of it is, but with the prognosis being as spaced out as it is, it cannot be good.  Mitchell has only figured into 15 games this season, after missing time with a broken wrist already as well, scoring 1 goal and 4 assists.
