Sheet Player News (Dec 9)

The Ducks' starting goalie on Wednesday night against the Canucks, Curtis McElhinney, played a great game until midway through the 3rd period, where he took a slapshot up high and in his mask, which ended up giving him a very deep gash on his forehead.  McElhinney had to leave the game to get repairs, leaving a 4-3 lead to Jonas Hiller, which was eventually squandered and lost in the shootout.  It doesn't sound like McElhinney's injury is too serious and I would be slightly surprised if he didn't dress as Hiller's back-up on Friday night.

An update on Box 30 defenseman, Mark Stuart: he has suffered a broken finger and will now be out of the Bruins' line-up for the next 4-to-6 weeks.  Stuart will likely have to wait until he can grip his hockey stick at 100% before he can even re-join full practice.  Not a very good injury to have, but for our pool purposes, he won't be missed too much.

There hasn't been any concrete details about Scott Gomez and his injury, but the team has listed him as day-to-day with a lower-body injury, for whatever that's worth.  His season thus far has been like he has been playing with a lower-body injury for the bulk of it, so an actual injury may be able to heal him back up to 100%, so he can be a much better scoring forward for the team.
