Nabokov Suspended by Islanders

After being claimed on waivers by the New York Islanders, the rumour mill started churning as to whether or not   Evgeni Nabokov would end up reporting to the team, surely disappointed he didn't clear waivers and join the Detroit Red Wings, for whom he signed his original deal with.  It turned out that Nabokov was very disappointed with the turn of events and decided against reporting to the club and a couple of days later, the club has now suspended the Russian goalie indefinitely without pay.

ImplicationsFrankly, there really isn't much more to this story, except that he shouldn't be on your radar for the second waiver draft, which is coming up in the next few days.  I'm not sure if Nabokov would have been the same kind of bargain for your pool team, if he was to have joined the Islanders, unlike how he would likely fare with the Red Wings.  Nevertheless, these points are all seemingly moot, as no one expects him to see the light of day in the NHL this season, with the possibility of next season as well, but that's another story for the Summer.
