Sheet Player News (Jan 19)

It was quite the evening for injuries in Buffalo, as the Sabres took on the Canadiens, and the sheet players were not exempt from that at all. Box 21 forward Drew Stafford had to leave the game in the 1st period with a groin injury. I don't think it would be terribly surprising if Stafford missed a game or two with the injury, but we'll consider him day-to-day for the time being.

The Avalanche have been rumoured to be shopping around Box 8 forward Brandon Yip, now that we're nearing the trade deadline and to further those rumours a little bit, Yip was made into a healthy scratch on Tuesday night against the Canucks. With only 15 points in 39 games, I would be somewhat surprised if there were many takers at this point in the year.

An upper-body injury kept Box 13 defenseman Francis Bouillon out of the Predators line-up on Tuesday, an injury that he suffered on the weekend, suspected to be a shoulder injury. I haven't seen an official timetable for Bouillon's return to the line-up, but I would imagine we would see one sooner rather than later. He'll remain day-to-day for now, but seeing as though he's not terribly popular on the sheet, an update may be far-fetched.
