Sheet Player News (Jan 27)

The Thrashers welcomed Andrew Ladd back into the line-up after missing a few games with a lower-body injury, which meant recent call-up Nigel Dawes came out of the line-up as a healthy scratch. The Box 23 forward has spent the better part of the season in the minors for Atlanta, but has seen some quality time up with the big club in Ladd's absence.  The Thrashers may have a tough roster decision to make during or after the All-Star break.

Some rumblings on Thursday morning that Box 30 defenseman Mark Stuart might be a candidate for a trade after watching Wednesday night's game from the press box.  Stuart has found his way up as a healthy scratch over the last few games, which does put the possibility into some people's minds, even yours truly.  I haven't seen Stuart in the scratches as often as some players, so I don't think I'll be too quick to make that assumption, but it certainly wouldn't surprise me if it happened.

On Wednesday, Steve Bernier spent a second consecutive game in the press box as a healthy scratch, as the ice cold scoring winger made way for some fresh legs against the Rangers on Tuesday and the Bruins on Wednesday.  Bernier has not scored a goal in quite some time and some time in the press box was certainly warranted.  It will be interesting to see what the Panthers do with him over the next week or so, as they sit eight points out of a playoff spot and the trade deadline looming.
