Sheet Player News (Feb 25)

It sounds like quite the illness that has befallen Box 7 forward Kyle Brodziak, as he was left behind at home to deal with it, as the team went out on a quick road trip, starting last night in Los Angeles. With some other injury problems with the team, there was a suggestion that he might fly out and meet the team, but it was nixed for some call-ups instead.

Also unable to go for the Wild on Thursday night was Box 12 defenseman Cam Barker, who suffered a torso injury against the Oilers earlier in the week and he's also expected to miss the second game of this quick road trip as well. Barker will likely be re-evaluated when the team returns home, then we'll hear whether or not he'll be able to jump back into the line-up right away.

The Penguins have suffered another heavy loss, but this time it is to their strong defense, instead of their depleted offense. Brooks Orpik has suffered a broken finger, which doesn't look to require surgery at all. The Box 29 defenseman will now miss the next four weeks worth of action, which could make things a little hairier for the Penguins down the stretch, as they vie for a home playoff spot in the first round.
