A minor trade on Saturday night, as the Anaheim Ducks acquired a little bit more NHL experience on the blueline from the Colorado Avalanche.  The Ducks picked up oft-injured defenseman Kyle Cumiskey from the Avs, who have been stockpiling some good young talent over the last year, to help fill some gaps left behind by some injuries and uncertainties in Anaheim.

There is little doubt that Cumiskey is indeed talented, but he does have a big problem staying healthy, which makes him such a risk for poolies to believe in him on a fantasy basis.  Obviously, the Ducks believe that once he gets healthy, they can manage with whatever gets thrown his way.

The price looks to be about right, as Jake Newton has been in the system for just over a season out of the NCAA system, but hasn't made that jump into the league as a more mature young player.  From the Avalanche's perspective, they would be more than happy to take on some more young talent to develop for a guy they don't feel they can fit in their line-up right away.

For the cap hits going either way, this is a pretty safe deal for either team.
