Ennis Listed As Out Week-To-Week

The news is not very good on the ankle injury that Sabres forward Tyler Ennis suffered over the weekend, as he is now expected to be out of the line-up for an indefinite period of time and they will be re-evaluating him on a week-to-week basis. The injury is considered to be a sprain, but it hasn't been noted as a high ankle sprain, but that doesn't sound to be too important at the moment.  I think it would be fair to assume that Ennis will be out for at least a couple of weeks and then beyond that, it will be touch and go.

The Sabres forward has not had a great start to the season, having been held pointless in his first seven games of the season and now missing out on some action will likely negatively impact his confidence upon his return.

The slump that Ennis is in could somewhat be equated to being a sophomore slump in the NHL, as he is expected to be playing in his second full season with the club, despite playing 10 games in the 2010 season and playing the rest of the year in the AHL.

ImplicationsAlthough Ennis has yet to score a point this season, this injury is not going to help Peter H. in the draft, who currently sits in 15th place in the standings. Peter, who has 52 points out of Monday's action, sits 14 points out of 3rd place and 30 points out of 1st place.  The more man-games that Peter could get to recover, the better, obviously, so hoping for the best-case scenario for Ennis' injury will be paramount.
