Injury Problems in Nashville

The Nashville Predators are currently falling victim to some injury bug bites to their forwards, as Martin Erat, who was already mentioned as being out this week, has been placed on the Injured Reserve, which will keep him out of the line-up for at least another week, while Patric Hornqvist has suffered a lower-body injury and he missed out on Thursday night's game against the Coyotes. Hornqvist is currently listed as out day-to-day.

Erat is currently suffering from an upper-body injury, but there still hasn't been much as for updates on this situation.  We'll see how he does after his week up on the IR, but with the limited amount of updates, it does suggest that he just needs the week to get back to 100%.

Hornqvist, according to a published report, was seen hopping around on one foot in the team's locker room on Thursday, so that doesn't really bode well for his immediate future.  He's considered day-to-day for right now, but I wouldn't be surprised if that status doesn't change over the weekend.

ImplicationsHow does this affect the draft, you ask? Well, Erat belongs to Chris M., who currently sits in 6 points out of 1st place and will likely be hurt over this next week without his 9th round pick. Hornqvist belongs to Peter H. this season, taken in the 11th round, and will likely hold his poolie hostage for at least the next couple of days, as both the player and team hold their breath waiting for a positive update.  Peter currently sits in a tie for 10th, already 12 points out of 1st.

Both teams don't want to be missing out on these forwards for too long, especially when the top teams remain healthy.
