Draft Player News (Dec. 28)

It was surprising to read that Dustin Byfuglien was a late scratch on Tuesday night, as the Jets took on the Avalanche in Denver, but an undisclosed injury, speculated to be a lower-body injury, was the reason for the absence.  Byfuglien was seemingly unneeded for the game, as the Jets took the win, 4-1, against a strong home side.  Of course, there is no word on when we may expect Byfuglien back, but we'll have him listed as out day-to-day for now.

Until this injury is disclosed as anything else than a minor problem, which may cost Byfuglien more than just Tuesday night's game, then this should just be considered a minor inconvenience for Dale B. and his draft team.  Byfuglien is his best blueliner this season and is almost getting the production that Dale was expecting, taking him in the early wave of defensemen in the draft.  His 24 points in 35 games is good enough for 114th in pool scoring.
