Leino Suspended for 1 Game

The Buffalo Sabres will be without forward Ville Leino for their game against the Florida Panthers on Friday night, as the forward was suspended for one game for delivering an illegal elbow to the head of Flyers forward Matt Read. I have attached the video posted from Brendan Shanahan, describing the incident and providing his reasoning for the suspension.

ImplicationsMissing out on one game isn't too significant for Scott G. in the draft, but he probably wishes that this incident didn't happen.  Scott is also very lucky that Leino's elbow didn't cause any significant damage, as the player that Leino tagged, Read, was one of Scott's waiver draft pick-ups last week and missing him in action likely would have been harsh to his overall standing in the pool.  Leino will be back on Saturday for the Sabres and Read should be good to go for their next game, so Scott gets off fairly lucky on this one.

Going into Friday's action, Scott sits in 13th place, 15 points out of the top 10, 34 points out of the money.
