Sheet Player News (Feb. 11)

A waiver draft bust over in the other pool, Luke Adam has finally found his way up to the press box for the Sabres, as a couple of bodies were able to make their return to the line-up against the Stars.  Adam was quick out of the gates on the scoreboard, picking up points left, right and centre, but the Sabres as a whole started to suffer in mid-November and there hasn't been much of a recovery since.  Adam has been one of those players that looked good on paper then, but hasn't done much since.  The Sabres are in playoff trouble and it will be interesting to see where Adam fits in their recovery.

The acquisition of Box 4 forward Brendan Morrison has not gone according to plan for the Blackhawks, who haven't found a spot for him to play on a consistent basis.  On Friday night in San Jose, Morrison was a healthy scratch for the team, while the Blackhawks tried to snap a 6-game losing streak.  Unfortunately for Chicago, they posted a loss in San Jose and it will be back to the drawing board for the coaching staff and it will be interesting to see if Morrison will be slotted back in.

The Los Angeles Kings placed forward Jarret Stoll on the Injured Reserve on Friday with an undisclosed lower-body injury. Stoll was hurt in their last game, Thursday against the Panthers.  On Saturday, it was revealed that the injury is in relation to his hip/groin and it is muscle related, so there is a chance that Stoll may only be out of commission for the minimum seven days, which the IR allows for.  Stoll has not been as productive as most may have hoped he would be, scoring 5 goals and 10 assists in 55 games, but if he can get himself healthy from this injury, it could then be argued that he was slowed by it, both on the ice and on the scoresheet.

The Montreal Canadiens are expecting to be without Box 29 defenseman Yannick Weber for the next 7-to-10 days, as the young blueliner is dealing with a leg injury.  Apparently, Weber suffered the injury on Tuesday night against Pittsburgh, making him unable to play on Thursday night on Long Island as well.  The announcement of the leg injury came on Friday, which leads to this post here.  In 43 games, Weber has 4 goals and 11 assists for the Canadiens, which in his case, is pretty decent, considering that he is generally a healthy scratch or given limited minutes with the Habs.
