Player Notes in the Draft (Nov 15)

The blueline shuffle continues to have some of our pool players on and off the ice, as the Ottawa Senators try to find the right chemistry and pull out a solid string of results.  On Friday, playing host to the Bruins, the Senators are expecting to have both Joe Corvo and Patrick Weircioch up in the press box as healthy scratches.  Corvo has been a scratch for the last couple of weeks, while Weircioch has been a scratch off and on over the past few weeks.  There really is no surprise here, but these scratches are not helping our pool numbers.

Corvo belongs to Leo M. this year and Weircioch belongs to Doug K., both teams who are struggling near the bottom of the standings and both teams could use more games played.

After being recalled and being with the club for a couple of weeks, seeing no actual NHL game action, the Toronto Maple Leafs have decided to send defenseman John-Michael Liles back to the AHL to get some ice-time.  Even after a strong preseason, the Leafs were not going to mess around with the chemistry that they have on the team right now, so Liles figured to be the odd-man out.  It doesn't sound like the Leafs will be in any hurry to have him up and playing, unless the injury bug starts to bite.

It looks like Liles is a no-brainer to be dropped by Brenda at the Waiver Draft, as he has contributed nothing and her team is below-average, in terms of skater games played, thanks to Liles not having any.  Her team is still in 3rd place after Thursday night, but she does have three players that are not active at the moment.
