Injury Updates, Part 2 (Sep 19)

News from the West Coast this afternoon, as the Los Angeles Kings take to the ice for the first time, they would do so without defenseman Drew Doughty, who is nursing an upper-body injury, which he reportedly suffered in training.  Of course, being the first full day of training camp, details are going to be sketchy and there is just no need to push injuries at this time of the year.  Doughty will be listed as out day-to-day for right now.

Anaheim Ducks forward Kyle Palmieri is expected to miss the bulk of training camp and preseason games, as he's dealing with an ankle sprain. It is being described as a high ankle sprain, which is one of the more troubling versions of the injury, but there was no context on the injury, except for the timeline. Palmieri is projected to be a late-round forward in the draft, at best, so there could be some better options out there anyway.

Of course, we already have updates on injuries from the earlier post of the day. Claude Giroux is expected to miss two weeks with his lower-body injury, which will keep him out of the training sessions and likely a couple of preseason games as well.  The Flyers and Giroux were off to a slow start last year and an injury right now is kind of an ominous sign to start training camp.  Keep an eye on Giroux for your draft.
