Scandella Handed Two

On Wednesday night, the news came down that Minnesota defenseman Marco Scandella received a 2-game suspension for his head hit on Long Island forward Brock Nelson.  For a full explanation of the suspension, I have embedded the video from NHL.com below.

ImplicationsIn the standings, you could speculate that this was Stacey C. telling his player to take out Wyllie's pick-up in the Waiver Draft, just so there was even less of a chance that these two would cross paths later on in the season. Stacey now sits in 18th place, 19 points up on Wyllie, and possibly felt threatened by Nelson and his high-scoring ways earlier in the season.

Of course, that can't really be the case, but it is sure fun to think that it is.

An updated list of injuries can be found here.
