Concussion Sidelines Parenteau

For those looking for injury information on P-A Parenteau over the last few days, it may have been hard to come by, even on the Montreal Canadiens Twitter page.

Parenteau did sit out of today's practice, due to concussion-like symptoms, which should mean he's on the shelf for at least the next week, missing out on Week Sixteen's game, home to the Nashville Predators.  Parenteau last played on Thursday night, away at Ottawa, missing out on Saturday night's game, home to the Islanders.

There was no word on when the injury occurred, but rather the 31-year old veteran was only mentioned to absent from the morning skate on Saturday, didn't dress for the game, wasn't available for practice on Sunday or on Monday, the latter finally mentioning concussion-like symptoms.

Thanks to the handy-dandy Forecaster website, it does show that Parenteau was placed on the Injured Reserve on Saturday, which means he would be eligible to come off, when the All-Star break concludes, provided he passes all of his tests.

Now, to his season, so far. In 40 games with the Canadiens, the free agent signing in the off-season has only rendered 6 goals and 15 points with his new club, which is likely got to be considered to be a bit of a dud move.

Allan picked the forward in the 8th round, 166th overall in the draft this year, but the returns have only been worthy of being picked in the 14th (and final) round, as he ranks 303rd in pool scoring overall.  On the flip side, Allan's 14th round pick, Alex Tanguay, has been playing like a 4th round pick, so they could happily swap places at the end of the day, I'm thinking.

The projected games have been stricken from Allan's team and won't be reinstated until he's activated from the Injured Reserve.
