Player Notes in the Draft (Feb 10)

Well, there isn't any definitive word, as of Tuesday morning, but it sounds like the lower-body injury that forced Steve Mason to leave Sunday's game against the Washington Capitals, may require some arthroscopic surgery.  It does sound like a knee injury and it could be much worse than day-to-day.
Until there is definite word on the situation, Mason will be on the list as out day-to-day and we'll go from there.

This is the sort of bad luck that Allan has experienced all year long, even before puck drop on the season.  If Mason is indeed done for a while, this could officially sink his team, since he didn't get the chance to drop him at the Waiver Draft.

One thing to watch out for in Tuesday night's action, whether or not Tyler Seguin will be able to play for the Dallas Stars. He's listed as questionable for the game against the Bruins in Boston with a bout of the flu.  I would think that Seguin will try his best to play in this one, given this is a game against his former team, but when you try to hard with the flu, sometimes it works against you.  We'll have to wait and see for game time.

If Allan is going to have problems with his players, Ryan is definitely going to have some problems of his own.  They seem to be walking hand-in-hand this season for injuries and bad luck, overall.  Ryan holds the goals for tie-breaker over Allan, but would still want the points to clearly move ahead.

The Edmonton Oilers announced today that they called up goaltender Richard Bachman from Oklahoma City in the AHL for the second-half of back-to-back nights, tonight being on Long Island, and he'll back up Viktor Fasth, as Ben Scrivens, who played the night before, will sit out with what is believed to be a hamstring injury. There is no word on the severity of the injury, but this won't necessarily cost him a start, rather this may be just something to rest up his leg and be ready for the next game.

This isn't bad news for Brenda & Seward yet, except that Scrivens wouldn't be able to come in for a relief effort, just before a comeback win, when Fasth drops the ball early.  No, this is likely a scheduled start for Fasth now and Scrivens is just getting some extra rest.  The pool's second duo have their win for the goalie survivor pool, so there should only be a moderate concern at the moment.

Reports came out of last night's game between the Canucks and Wild, that Vancouver forward Nick Bonino left the game with a lower-body injury and didn't return.  After the game, there was no immediate update and there still hasn't been anything on his status, as of Tuesday morning.  Again, wait and see here as well.  Hopefully, this isn't anything too serious, as he has been a key player for the Canucks this season.

Scott should still have some designs of being in on the money by the end of the year, being as though he is only 35 points out in 9th place, after Monday night.  It isn't out of the question, even if he only made one move at the Waiver Draft.  Obviously, he was confident enough in his team to work with most of what he had.
