Player Notes in the Draft (Mar 17)

The New York Islanders made an emergency recall first thing on Tuesday morning, as they have recalled goalie Kevin Poulin to take the place of Jaroslav Halak for Tuesday night's game against the Blackhawks, which likely means that Michal Neuvirth will be the starter for the game.  There has been no indication about what the injury to Halak is, but he now hits the list as out day-to-day.  With a slight buffer in the Eastern Conference playoff picture, the Islanders can afford to rest their number one guy a little bit, before panic has to set in.

Unfortunately for Tony, it is far too late for any sort of recovery this season, as his team fell down to 16th place and now without Halak, there is risk of falling even further.  Tony is only 4 points clear of Leo and Leo's team has been hot in this segment.

The Ottawa Senators find themselves in the same situation in their crease, as Craig Anderson has reportedly re-aggravated his hand injury, which kept him out of the lineup for some time and helped to launch Andrew Hammond's rise to the spotlight.  There is no word on how bad the injury is now, but the team has recalled Chris Driedger to take Anderson's spot for now, but the crease will belong to Hammond, more so than it already does.

Cam's team has now fallen off the pace of the money race, dropping spots to two of the hotter teams in the pool and moving down to 7th place.  Anderson hasn't been giving him any starts of late, which has helped Cam's decline and it may grease the slide, as he could fall even further with this news.

An updated list of injuries can be found here.
