Player Notes in the Draft (Apr 3)

Looks like it was a return to the press box for Carolina forward Riley Nash, who has seen his fair share of times in the press box in the last couple segments of the season.  It has been mentioned before in a previous post, how good of a start Nash got off to in the regular season, but that was short lived on a Hurricanes team that really struggled this season.  Healthy scratches are not the way to a regular job in the hockey pool draft, nor is 25 points in 68 games.

It was a gamble that didn't quite pay off for Stacey M., who has ended up being -20 on this Week Nine Waiver Draft move.  If she had passed on this pick, her team would be a couple points out of the money, going into Friday's action.

The recall of Mike Richards has already lasted five appearances and now one healthy scratch, as the former NHL captain has not really settled back into NHL life with the Kings. Richards has no points in his five appearances and has a -4 plus/minus rating, although his faceoff winning percentage has been good in four out of the five games. Still, the hockey pool needs points and the Kings need goals, if they are going to make the playoffs. A scratch was definitely coming.

Allan was making up some skater games with the recall of Richards, but that was about it.  His team crawled back into 22nd place, only 3 points up on 23rd and the Olli bobblehead.  It is safe to say that Richards has not helped him, but I don't think that was Allan's plan in the end anyways.

Tampa Bay defenseman Victor Hedman missed his second straight game on Thursday night, as he his dealing with a lower-body injury.  Hedman was reportedly injured on Monday night against the Habs, missed Tuesday's game against the Leafs and then again last night against the Sens.  The Bolts are saying that their stud defender is out day-to-day and will be back before the playoffs, but there was no actual indication of when.

Of course, this doesn't help Tony at all, but nothing really has been helping him since the middle of the season.  Looks like he'll finish no lower than 19th in the standings this season and with injury problems, it will be a struggle for him to finish higher than that too.

An updated list of injuries can be found here.
